In the Chemical and Materials Technology Laboratory the Technician will be provide analytical, mechanical and problem solving support to development, production and failure analysis efforts in the areas of chemistry and materials.  The work will include specimen preparation, generation of test reports, maintenance and repair of equipment, general laboratory upkeep and testing such as: residual gas analysis, GC/MS, IR, purge and trap/GC/FID, metallography, hardness, particulate quantification, hydrocarbon analysis, and scanning electron microscopy.  The work also will include mechanical assembly of test apparatus and the use of problem solving skills to troubleshoot equipment problems.
